Commentary by Br. Bugnolo
Dr. Mazza is an esteemed colleague, but with this thesis that a successor of St. Peter can move the Apostolic See to another place in the world, he has ignored fundamental principles of theology, which according to my reckoning makes his thesis formally heretical. — Read my remarks here.
“Yes, they can go and live anywhere in the world they want [or are unwillingly brought] to, but they remain Bishop of Rome.” – Br. Alexis Bugnolo
For example:
1) The Avignon Papacy in the 14th century; Popes Clement V, John XXII, Benedict XII, Clement VI, Innocent VI, Bl. Urban V and Gregory XI.
2) Napoleon’s kidnapping of Pope Pope Pius VI and Pope Pius VII in the late 18th and early 19th century?
3) Pope Pius IX after having fled Rome and escaped in disguise in the 19th century?
“Ubi Petrus Ibi Ecclesia,” “Where Peter is, there is the Church” – St. Ambrose of Milan
Two additional articles you wrote that I remember being most helpful in understanding why the Mazza thesis shouldn’t be promoted.

Well, I reckon you have to factor in the most likely interpretation of the Third Secret of Fatima prophecy of the apostasy of Rome, and its abominations (mroe than I can count with Bergoglio, but pachamama, virus-worship, sodomy and desecration of the Most Blessed Sacrament seem to be among Jorge Mario bergoglio’s top ten). All witnesses with eyewitness knowledge of the Third Secret admit to this.
Due to which, the Third Secret in all likelihood states, two things ineluctably follow:
# One: that the primacy of Rome will be removed, just as the corner stone of the tomb of St Peter, to Fatima, Portugal. Where “the Faith shall always be preserved,” as Sister Lucia (pre-1958 if you please, no imposters here).
And # Two, furthermore, that Rome will be destroyed if she fails to reject her abominations 69 years (literally 69 weeks) after the revelation date of the Third Secret, which as the whole Catholic world recognized (and still recognizes) as 1960. By sitting on and squelching the Secret as John the XXIII and his immediate successors all of equally unsainted memory tried to do, he (and they) could hardly seriously expect to put off the day of reckoning.
That gives Rome until 2029, A. D., by my reckoning. We’re on a tenyear countdown, and I am tempted to root, Jonah-like, for its hastening.
Like Jonah sitting under the cool and shady castor tree above Ninevah.
It is probably possible that the See of Peter could be moved. What if Rome is destroyed in the approaching wars? It may be that “Rome” is wherever “Peter” is.
The Pope cannot move Rome. But the Roman Pontiff can reside wherever he wants, so neither is there a need to move Rome.
