Editor’s Note: While the substance of the initiative sounds entirely worthy of praise, it is detestable and shameful that Bishop Athanasius Schneider should publicly approve of a religious foundation which has the approval of no local ordinary, as such an endeavor is not permitted in Canon Law. If he truly believes that Pope Francis is persecuting nuns, he should join the Sutri Initiative to rebuke him and have him removed from office if he refuses rebuke. Promoting lawlessness in the Church is equivalent to chopping the Mystical Body into pieces. It is juridically an act of butchery.
