I just watched Stanley Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb a couple of hours ago for the first time.
Made in 1964, it was startlingly prescient.
“We’re all in this together” was one of many gems that struck me in the movie.
In its fictional though plausible plot, it is deliberate shut downs of communications systems that precipitated war.
It seems more likely that “information management” will be used in future – comprising both censorship and coverage restrictions on the one hand, and disinformation and propaganda on the other.
