Don Minutella and all his followers should be eating humble pie, but they are pretending in online argumentation, that he never approved of the election of Pope Benedict XVI’s successor, or that I was doing something he never approved of. — I do not need his approval to do anything, since he holds no jurisdiction in the Church over me. — Nor is an election valid or not because he says so, even if some of his believers may think so.

But on April 19, 2021, Don Minutella asked to interview me live on his youtube channel, Radio Domina Nostra, and I explicitly stated there that Catholics of Rome could validly elect the successor to Pope Benedict XVI, even if there were only 1 Catholic left at Rome, who recognized Benedict XVI as pope until death.

But now he and his followers are saying that a papal election is invalid, if they judge that the numbers are too small. Their argument is that it would be ridiculous to claim such an election valid.

Alas, that is not how the principles of jurisprudence work. An election is not valid in the Church because of what others, non electors, think is an acceptable number. Their validity is based in law. An a majority of valid votes of voters present makes an election valid. If only one Cardinal elector was alive, in Conclave the election would be valid.

And if Don Minutella or anyone else thought it were not, because it was too few votes, that makes no difference. Indeed it is both folly and the consummation of all pride and presumption to say otherwise.

The same rules apply to all ecclesiastical elections. See canons 166 ff..

So I am sorry to say, that no matter how few Catholics came to the Assembly on January, 30, 2023, you cannot argue that the election was invalid, or was not considered valid by Christ. And since for the last 14 days, I have heard no substantive argument about the invalidity of the Assembly’s action on any other basis, one must presume they concede that they are wrong.

I have already shown definitively, that a Cardinal can be elected validly as pope, even if a priest in Sicily calls him a heretic. The only thing necessary is that no pope has condemned him, or deprived him of the right to be elected.

Finally, if you think the election was invalid, because I did not heed the counsels of Don Minutella and others about when it was to be held, all I can say is that you need to stop and ask yourself why you are advancing such a pathetic objection: as if it were juridically right to do something later than sooner, which no sane person has ever said in the history of all jurisprudence. Rights are rights. When you have the right to act, it is always just and valid that you do so, whenever you do so.

Catholics have no problems with these things. But the Catholic conclusion does mean that we who hold that Benedict XVI was the valid pope until death, now recognize that Pope Francis is the true pope, and will remain such until death or a valid abdication.

And if you are irked that Catholics of Rome in the sight of the Living God and St. Peter had such an ability to solve the problem you are certainly a bit proud, at the very least, and perhaps a lot ignorant of the history of the Church at Rome.

Dunque, in buona sostanza, se volessimo riassumere la perfetta disamina del fine Canonista Fra Alexis Bugnolo, molto stimato dal ” Piccolo Resto” della Resistenza Cattolica, almeno fino alla data del 30 Gennaio 2023, o giù di lì, praticamente si stanno arrampicando sugli specchi tutti coloro i quali si accaniscono giorno e notte, da quel 30 Gennaio, investendo tempo ed energie nel tentativo estremo di screditare Fra Bugnolo (che personalmente rispetto e stimo in tutta la sua persona) e ancor peggio nel voler disperatamente dimostrare e soprattutto convincere i fedeli (non solo i propri seguaci perché quelli sembrerebbe che li hanno già convinti) con tesi strampalate (che non stanno in piedi ne Canonisticamente, ne dal punto di vista giurisprudenziale ed elencate ampliamente da Fra Bugnolo) che l’ elezione del Cardinal Bergoglio a legittimo successore di Papa Benedetto XVI sia invalida, ridicola e nulla, stanno solo perdendo tempo perché nessuna delle tesi avanzate per quanto strampalate risultano essere legittimamente ne attendibili ne valide.
    Ora una domanda sorge spontanea: ma se tutti coloro i quali affermano ciò ne fossero realmente convinti, non tanto di una convinzione frutto della propria deduzione logico/interpretativa, quanto invece ne fossero convinti Canonisticamente e dal punto di vista giurisprudenziale, se ne vessero una convinzione, uno straccio di prova inconfutabile in forza della quale potrebbero affermare che non sia stata considerata valida da Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo, perché tanta ferocia, tanto accanimento, tanto spreco di tempo ed energie?
    Non sarebbe forse più semplice ignorarla come si ignora una tale cosa che si ritiene del tutto indegna di attenzione, indegna di rilievo alcuno?
    Siamo veramente sicuri che i detrattori di questa elezione e di Fra Bugnolo che tanto si accaniscono contro tutto ciò e contro Papa Francesco in realtà, sotto sotto ne riconoscono la validità e la temono?
    Perché non lasciare liberi di andare per la propria strada chi riconosce valida l’ elezione di Papa Francesco, se ciò non costituisse in qualche modo una ” minaccia” ad un progetto diverso che qualcuno sogna di realizzare?
    Ultima considerazione:
    perché si è provveduto alla rimozione del video di cui sopra, (che ad oggi 12 Febbraio 2023 come riportato da Fra Alexis,risulta essere rimosso) che avrebbe dato l’ opportunità alla moltitudine, che intenda maturare una propria idea del caso affidandosi alla propria capacità di discernere anziché farsi imboccare ciò che è vero e ciò che è falso prendendo per buona la narrazione ufficiale alla quale i più hanno consegnato sotto naftalina, come si fa con gli indumenti ad ogni cambio di stagione, l’ intelletto ed il libero arbitrio doni del Creatore?

  4. I wonder what Canon Law details regarding the election of a excommunicated heretical Bishop? Because the way I see it, regardless whether or not Fra Bugnolo’s Conclave was legit or not, how can Bergoglio be even considered when everyone including Fra Bugnolo claimed this to be the case! 🤨

    1. Because, Rita, you do not determine who is excommunicated or not. If you cannot recognize that you have a major problem with pride.
