Wouldn’t it be unexpected if Pope Benedict told the Traunstein Regional Court, “Fine, come and get me so that I can defend myself.” This move would liberate him from Bishop Ganswein’s custody, and from “house arrest” at the Vatican.
I think there’s a good chance there’d be a mistrial. I think he would be safe in German custody. They’d certainly feed him properly, and look after him medically.
This:
“Benedikt has eight weeks to comment on the allegations.”
How and how soon he responds will be edifying. Will it be prophetic, too, somehow?
