1. Yes — It may well be a repeat of what happened to the prominent Catholic spokesmen after the 1536 “Pilgrimage of Grace” in Northern England, protesting the Dissolution of the Monasteries. They were told they would be pardoned if they desisted their protest; they foolishly trusted the word King Henry VIII, surrendered, and he tortured them to death. . . .

2. Foolishness is always rooted in lacking trust in God.
