Editor’s Note: Father Walter Covens is one of the few Catholic priests, who is a pastor of a parish, and who celebrates mass in public every day in communion with Pope Benedict, saying his name outloud. His blood brother, a deacon in the Diocese of Namur, Belgium, passed away 11 years ago, at the age of 58. I ask you to pray for his soul on Oct. 22, the 11th anniversary of his passing.

Very sad to hear – for an older brother to lose a younger brother.. I’m the youngest of three.
Walter – my condolences and prayers.

Thank you 🙏🏻!
Please note that I haven’t been parish priest since 1992. From then until last September I have been a chaplain for two clinics. And now I have been replaced without any other mission except to pray for my successor.

Thanks again dear Brother!
In American English, “parish priest” is a synonym for “diocesan priest”, but yes, I was inexact.
