Every military force moving into enemy territory will dig holes to stay protected. Anders Åslund have no point. This is normal. And it does not in any way prove the Russians are loosing. It is normal to protect yourself in a war, so you dig in. To not dig in, would be idiotic. Hopeless non logic, just propaganda.
You obviously no noting of the military. One one digs in when one decides on a static offensive. Russia began this war with a limited Blitzkreig type of offensive and has now switched to WWI attrition warfare. It’s a clear sign that they no longer have offensive capability in all sectors.
