How many antipopes have been elected to the see of Peter, (whom history says was crucified upside down because he asked to be, bc he stated that was unworthy to die like Jesus was ).., I believe it has been quite a few. This type of ” firing” someone would have been detestable even in America , for no good reason. It’s why unions were formed..to protect a mans job so his wife and children would be protected.   8. “… thrown away like plague victims” this brave, young, faithful Catholic may have been – but by pagans, not Catholics.

    Because Catholics, represented by Fr St Damien of Molokai, in now long line of Saints like Mother Teresa (etc) actually give their lives for the sake of plague victims. Far be it from them to “throw them away”.’ Their instinct is to run toward suffering and danger, not away. To help, not harm.
