I probably shouldn’t comment on this because I have a ton of experience, strong feelings about it. My mother was forced into a nursing home for her last year of life because local EMS and fire department were tired of doing their job, didn’t want to respond to calls/requests for lift assist any more. We live in a house on stilts with no elevator. I spent that entire year with her at the nursing home, or hired a private sitter to keep an eye on her. Believe it or not that is pretty much the norm down here. Any family who leaves a loved one in one of these death camps can expect some sort of unhappy ending.
