This prophecy is contained in a commentary by the Abbe Conde, on the full secret given to Melanie (Read full secret here).
The passage of the secret, commented on, is this:
28. ‘Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist.’
29. ‘The demons of the air with the antichrist will perform great wonders on the earth and in the air, and men will corrupt themselves more and more. God will have care of His faithful servants and men of good will; the Gospel will be preached everywhere, all peoples and all nations will have knowledge of the truth!’
30. ‘I address a pressing appeal to the earth: I call upon the true disciples of God living and reigning in the heavens; I call upon the true imitators of Christ made man, the only and true savior of men; I call upon my children, my true devotees, those who have given themselves to me so that I may guide them to my divine Son, those whom I carry so to speak in my arms, those who have lived by my spirit; finally I call upon the Apostles of the last times, the faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who have lived in a contempt for the world and for themselves, in poverty and in humility, in contempt and in silence, in prayer and in mortification, in chastity and in union with God, in suffering and unknown to the world. It is time that they go out and come to enlighten the earth. Go, and show yourselves as my dear children; I am with you and in you, provided that your faith be the light which enlightens you in these days of woe. May your zeal render you like the starving for the glory and honor of Jesus Christ. Fight, children of light, you the small number who can see; for behold the time of times, the end of ends.’
31. ‘The Church will be eclipsed, the world will be in consternation. But behold Enoch and Elie filled with the Spirit of God; they will preach with the strength of God, and men of good will will believe in God, and many souls will be consoled; they will make great progress by the virtue of the Holy Spirit and will condemn the devilish errors of the antichrist.’
Abbé Combe, the editor of the 1904 edition of this secret, adds the following note after this paragraph:
‘I have from Melanie that the Church will be eclipsed in this sense, that 1) one will not know which is the true pope; 2) for a time: the holy Sacrifice will cease to be offered in churches, and also in houses: so there will be no more public worship. But she saw that yet the holy Sacrifice would not cease: it would be offered in caves, in tunnels, in barns and in alcoves.’
I would say that Melanie spoke of our own days….

Brother. I was thinking but the other day. Our Lady at Fatima said in reference to the consecration of Russia that the Holy Father will do it but it will be late, Russia will be converted and a period of peace will be granted to the world. Interesting that She didn’t refer to the bishops in carrying out her commands. I know that the condition of the consecration spoken to Sister Lucia at Tuy was for the Pope in union with the bishops. Currently there are no bishops except two who are in union with the Holy Father, so theoretically just the Pope need make the consecration.
Paul, 100% correct. In fact, Our Lady’s promise cannot be extracted from her warnings about 2 popes. So the true pope can prove he is such by Consecrating Russia. But it also means that while Russia may convert, the rest of the world might remain in the Church of the Antichrist. And a lot of westerners will have a hard time accepting, on account of their pride, that Russia become the new center of Catholicism.

Let’s just get the consecration done.

Then let the chips fall were they may. How can we possibly predict were the chips may fall and how the flock will react when the Immaculate Heart triumphs?
We’ll be lucky enough if we can predict our own individual steadfastness, and stand firm in the hour of trial:
“Expect the Lord, be strong, and be of stout heart; and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 26:14

La Salette is one of the key prophecies that everyone should know about. Sadly, most of the clergy do not speak about prophecies -they do not know of them -p they have never studied them – even the approved ones.
This is sad because, if they did, we would have been on the alert. As a result, the biggest deception ever in history is taking place and we don’t see it.
If you haven ‘t alreadt read about La Salette – do so, then read Anne Catherine Emmerich, Quito, all the messages of Fatima, and many saints have even prophesied of these events.
What about the (failed?) prophecies concerning 1864/5?
“In the year 1864, Lucifer together with a large number of demons will be unloosed from hell…”
“In the year 1865, there will be desecration of holy places . . ”
As far as I know, nothing at all happened in the world which can be connected to these. Of course, they’re fairly general apart from identifying years. They seem to speak of wars across Europe, which honestly isn’t a big stretch. Also the prophecy seems to indicate =civil= wars (one of which ENDED in 1865 in the Americas!) (Frenchman will fight Frenchman, Italian will fight Italian.)
I’ve been both Catholic and Orthodox, and Orthodox now, and I feel like I’d LIKE to come back to Rome, but a lot of the business with Marian apparitions puts me off, this and Fatima as well. I understand these aren’t =required= beliefs, but what the heck, they’re integral parts of the Roman Catholic Church, churches are named for these events, and it’s officially accepted. (My local parish is actually connected with the Missionaries of La Sallette). Can someone actually reconcile this? Thank you!
