Pope Benedict XVI was seriously ill after return from Bavaria

by Br. Alexis Bugnolo

Peter Seewald, on the occasion of the presentation of his new Biography of Pope Benedict XVI, revealed that the Pope has been seriously ill of late.

Following his return from Bavaria, he developed an infection of the face, said Seewald. Presumably he means a skin infection.

Unusually blotches were apparent on his face on previous occasions, however.

Now, however, Seewald affirms, the Pope has recovered.  During his illness he was in a lot of pain and discomfort. But now he has returned to writing.

UPDATE:

Reuters is reporting that the disease was shingles. This is the recurrence of smallpox which afflicts the middle aged and elderly DURING TIMES OF GREAT STRESS OR FEAR.

That the Holy Father came down with this disease after returning from Bavaria seems to indicate that he was forcibly separated from his brother and the sorrow of that event cause the stress which precipitated the outbreak.

  1. How do we know he wasn’t sucker-punched by Gänswein or one of the masonic guards that hate him? This is weird and it sounds more like an excuse to keep PP BXVI’s face away from the public like they’ve done for the last 8 years.

    1. Shingles is always serious. It is very painful. But it is rarely grave. The distinction is that in English, grave refers to a risk to life, but serious refers to the difficulty of the cure and the magnitude of the problem.
