Pope Benedict XVI: Happy 93rd!

by Br. Alexis Bugnolo

Ninety-three years ago today, it was Holy Saturday, and there was born and baptized. Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger, whom the world knows as Pope Benedict XVI.

Let us all pray a Rosary for Pope Benedict XVI’s spiritual and physical welfare today!

And please consider joining the League of Prayer for Pope Benedict XVI.

Here is a video for today’s celebration:

  1. Praise the Lord for the life of Our Holy Father. He was born on the feast day of St. Benedict Joseph-Labre, patron of the unmarried, poor, beggars and rejects.

Also on the feast of St. Bernadette of Lourdes, patroness of illness, people ridiculed for their piety, poverty and shepherds.

Also on the feast of St. Drogo, patron of those whom others find repulsive, unattractive, “Baume-les-Messieurs”, bodily ills, and other afflictions.

Also on the feast of St. Turibius the monk, Abbot and founder of the Spanish Benedictine abbey of Liebana in Asturias where the largest relic of the Cross of Our Lord is safeguarded.

So many parallels with the life of our Holy Father and the saints of his birthday!

This poignant video which Bro. Bugnolo posted in the past (mille grazie!) illustrates what Pope Benedict said about his homeland: beautiful in nature and made more so by her Church towers and balconies with flowers and full of a people who believe in God. (And the music, listen on for the brass homage to the Bavarian countryside.)

It also has a delightful clip of his birthday two years ago, I believe, from minute 3:01 to 4:25. Then cut unless you can bear the face of the Traitor Gänswein, agent for the lavender mafia whose role throughout was to subvert the agenda of the Catholic Pope. His role now is to control the Once and Future Pope–which he spectacularly failed to do in the Sarah Book-Gate scandal, which saved the priesthood from destruction and the ravages of the antipope. This failure is why Bergoglio fired him from his second job as master of antipapal ceremonies.

At any rate–Happy Birthday, Benedict, our dear Pope! Viva il Papa! Viva, Benedetto!
