Please comment: What to put in a FAQ for FromRome.Info?

By Br. Alexis Bugnolo

A supporter of FromRome.Info wrote to me to suggest that I publish a FAQ page (Frequently Asked Questions, with their answers) for FromRome.Info.

As I like suggestions, because I know that more minds can often recognize problems better than one mind by itself, I want to act on this suggestion and  publish a FAQ page for FromRome.Info.

But, as I do not keep track of which question are more often asked, I ask YOU, the readership, to suggest the questions, here in the Comment fields.

Even if you think your question is not common, ask it. Because FromRome.Info is not here to do propaganda, it is here to inform. I cannot promise that I will know the answer to all your questions, but I will try at least to indicate how they can be answered.

Please, no questions regarding why you think someone did something. Only God can know that. And since this is a FAQ PLEASE keep your questions limited to RomeRome.Info and what is the truth about Pope Benedict XVI.

Thank you, in advance, for your participation in this collaborative work. In these comments below, I will be more lax in allowing comments in response to my appeal, to promote discussion, because Feed Back is the best way to know what needs to be done in most affairs.

  1. Good idea. I suggest FAQ would reference your prior columns and new thoughts on orthodox Catholic doctrine and spirituality, e.g., prayer, confession, purity, proper dress at Mass, list of Bergoglio heresies and ambiguous statements, Vatican II heresies and ambiguous statements, etc.

  2. Dear Bro. Bugnolo
Why aren’t the prophecies of Our Lady and the Saints promoted more? If people were familiar with them, it would make it so much easier for them to accept the present situation. For example, 2 popes prophecy from St Francis of Assisi, Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich (multiple references),La Salette n-“one will not know which is the true pope”, Pius IX (pope with his name), Fatima, Ven. Abp. Fulton Sheen – “The False Prophet…religion without a cross…counterfeit Church…emptied of all its divine content…”. etc.
I feel Catholics are much more likely to believe what is happening if they learn about what Our Lady and the Saints have been telling us (so accurately) for centuries.
    Thank you,
    God bless

    1. Dear Remnant Survivor,

I can say that the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima were a key moment in my own vocation as a young man. But as I assume everyone already knows about them, I only may oblique references normally to them. There are many sites about prophecies, but if you can write up a comprehensive article with quotations, I would publish it. Thanks.

      1. Dear Bro. Bugnolo
I find that Catholics actually don’t know their prophecies – neither do many priests. I have a little booklet that I have written, which I hand out with favourable results.
I will try to do an article.
        Thank you.

  3. I’m thinking very practically in terms of FAQ for the renunciation. These are not my questions but ones I imagine people want to know (the basics).
    1. Did Pope Benedict resign? How do you know?
    2. Did Francis usurp his position? How do we know?
    3. How did it come about that so many people believe Francis is the pope?
    4. What were Pope Benedict’s actual words that day and in the text?
5 What Does that actually make Francis?
    6. How should we respond to this situation?
    7. If I am a priest, what do you recommend that I do first?
    8. How can we connect with and support other people who want to follow only the true pope? (Esp displaced priests)
    9. Does that make us sedevacantists?
    10. How are these events linked to Fatima and other prophecies?

  4. I think that many traditional catholics do not see much of a difference between Francis and Benedict’. Both are more or less modernists in their minds. Until these differences are addressed I fear that many are not going to take your website seriously.

  5. I absolutely agree 100% with remnant survivor on prophecy being fulfilled today. If he needs help with compiling a list I will gladly help.

    Some common twitter questions:

“When BXVI dies we are sedes, right?” (confusion about the difference between sedecacantism and a normal state of sede vacante)

    “How do I refute sedevacantism?”

“If BXVI dies before Bergoglio, Bergoglio becomes pope then anyway, right?”

“How can the pope, who is the principle of unity, be in schism from himself?

  6. Dear Brother Bugnolo, can a man who opposes Catholic teaching be a valid Pope? and what does it mean for the doctrine of papal infallibility if he disagrees with all previous pope’s. If. POPE Benedict was put under pressure of any kind to renounce the Papacy is his renunciation invalid? Shirley Peaston.

  7. In no particular order. These are the first questions that come to my mind. Thanks for asking.

    1: Papal Infallibility; who decides
2: What is included in Magisterium; excluded; who decides
3: Must we accept everything in II Vatican Council; some; none
4: Does the I Vatican Council contain error
5: Do other Councils contain error; who decides
6: Is the Baptism received by a Protestant valid for Catholic conversion; 7: Is a Protestant Marriage valid for Catholic conversion
8: Are the Sedevacantists wrong that all Vatican II era Popes are invalid
9: What is the definition of the “Gospel” we are to deliver to the world
10: When must we obey the Pope; when is obedience optional
11: Is it sacrilegious to receive Holy Eucharist from an E. Minister
12: Is the Mass originally derived from Jewish Liturgy, reoriented to Christ as the sacrificial Lamb; does it predate Christ to antiquity; or is there a specific point in time it was “invented” – a primordial Mass created by the first Apostles.
13: Is it licit to attend a Vatican II Mass (aka New Order)
14: If something heretical or sinful is stated during a homily, should we speak up and disrupt or simply and quietly walk out
15: In what way is Christ the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets.
16: What did it mean when the Temple Curtain was torn in two.
    17: What does it mean that “until heaven and earth pass away, not a jot or tittle of the Law will pass away until all is fulfilled”;
18: The 10 Commandments form the core of Catholic moral law – why does the rest of OT Law no longer apply, given what Christ said about the Law applies until heaven and earth pass away (we obey some restrictions in the OT such as sodomy, but not others such as stoning, dietary etc)
19: If the Church is personally perceived as misusing funds, are we still required to give at least 10% of our money as Tithe. If so, how
20: Given what St. Paul says in Romans 1 and 2 (1:18-20; 2:29 just for instance) is it impossible for a Protestant *who has never been evangelized* into the Catholic Church to gain heaven

I could go on. Thanks for the opportunity to ask.

  8. First question is what many big names in Catholic Commentary think and publicly say:

“those who support the idea or even entertain the idea of studying if the renunciation is valid are schismatics” how to respond properly with quick facts to prove we are not schismatics?

Who are the real schismatics who claim to be Catholic?

When talking about the Faith and someone reveals they are SSPX and you know when you go into the still in schism regarding doctrine, they go blind mad crazy, how do we approach them to bring them back to the Faith?

A good solid definition on Who Is Ordo Militaris Catholicus? and how their mission is still valid in the Church, even though many from horrible instruction are now following the errors of Pacifism?

How will this news site be different from the other independent Catholic news sites?

  9. The only suggestion I could offer is to make the first answer be a link to the Index of Pope Benedict’s renunciation page. It’s probably the most important page on the site so far.

I very much look forward to a summary or more in depth article on the prophecies that appear to be lived out in our time. That subject is so truly awesome I find it overwhelming and hard to even read about, never mind keep the facts straight.

And just a reply to Ordo Militaris Radio: Are you saying the SSPX holds a different faith? I’ve never heard that before. Of course they haven’t officially recognized Pope Benedict and they could be stronger in their condemnation of Bergoglio but as far as I know their priests are not at all free to speak their own minds on *anything*. Of course that’s a terrible disservice to everyone, to say the least, but as far as I’m aware, they’re still in as good standing as they were when Pope Benedict was trying to regularize them. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  10. To fortitudolaeticia “In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI reaffirmed that: “Until the doctrinal questions are clarified, the Society has no canonical status in the Church, and its ministers – even though they have been freed of the ecclesiastical penalty – do not legitimately exercise any ministry in the Church.”[19] The status of the SSPX was not changed by Benedict in 2009. This has to some extent been superseded with regard to the exercise by SSPX ministers of ministry within the Catholic Church, but not as regards the canonical status of the society as viewed by the Holy See.” This has not changed.

  11. What is about the commissum/commisso problem in NON SOLUM PROPTER? By speech of Pope Benedict it was “commissum”, but on Vatican website it was “commisso”. Is there any evidence of this conjecture to be authorized by Pope Benedict? With “commissum” there was no resignation at all, not even from the ministry according to Dr Martinus Bachmaier:
